Blue Lagoon Inn & Suites

The location is close to the city center, and the grounds are peaceful and quiet. We stayed for three days and two nights; for the price, it was decent, with a cozy room that worked well for resting after touring around town. The road in is rough and unpaved, which may be difficult for guests with mobility issues, though it was a minor problem for us. Service was okay. It’s fine as a three-star hotel if you keep expectations modest.

The villas around the pools look lovely, and the pool itself was clean and warm. We also enjoyed the food, and the server was quick and polite. I got a good deal through Agoda, too. My one concern came at checkout: the front desk was being handled by someone inexperienced, who couldn’t answer my questions about the room options or transport back to the airport. Blue Lagoon Inn & Suites has a pretty lagoon-like setting right in the city.

I found the pool rules really disappointing. The signs are misleading: the deep end has a picture of someone diving, while the shallow end shows a diver crossed out, but diving isn’t allowed anywhere. Neither splashing nor cannonballs are allowed either, so you’re left just wading around. This place seems better suited to seniors or people with disabilities. I wasn’t happy with the experience and would recommend staying somewhere else.

The room was the worst part. My standard room had gloomy lighting, a moldy smell, and a bathroom that reeked of sewage. The pool was small, with only a few sunbeds around it, and breakfast came with just one piece of melon on the fruit plate. The property looked lovely in the photos but felt quite run-down in person. The location is not too bad, apart from the muddy, dark path from the main road. It wasn’t a pleasant stay.
