Eastwood Richmonde Hotel

The renovation has given the hotel a fresh look, and we had a really nice stay. They upgraded our room at no charge and even brought a complimentary cake for my birthday. I'd like to try one of their pet-friendly rooms next time, though you have to call them directly to arrange that.

Out of the six hotels we booked for the family tour last month, this was the best stay. Check-in had a small hiccup, but it didn't spoil the experience. We booked six rooms, and every one was tidy, with clean sheets, very white towels, and clean bathrooms and surfaces. The hotel feels aged, but it's maintained to a good standard. I even felt comfortable showering barefoot here. The staff really made the visit memorable, from the doorman and bellman Joel to the breakfast crew Ian and Eunice, the egg cook, and the cleaners Rene Boy and the others whose names I couldn't remember. Breakfast was decent, if a little limited in variety. We missed the dried fish and “taho” cycles, but those are available at the mall. Having the mall connected to the hotel was handy, especially in the heat. There are plenty of nearby shops and restaurants, and the nightlife is worth checking out. The top-floor pool is simple and didn't seem very busy. Laundry is just a short walk away; they help load it and move it to the dryer, and everything is folded when you pick it up. There's car parking, though I didn't find out where, and I didn't see valet parking. The wheelchair route gets cut off once you leave the building. I'd suggest the reservations team coordinate more closely with check-in. People book early and email so they can be sure they'll get what was confirmed.

Being able to get straight into the mall from the second floor was the best part of the location. We ate at Gloria Maris, got coffee at CBTL, shopped at Robinson's supermarket, and the kids spent an hour at the playground. We booked four rooms for Halloween with FamiLEE. The rooms and facilities were spacious, and we slept well, though the corridors and area outside the elevators had no AC and felt uncomfortable. The staff were polite, but breakfast was a letdown. The dining team seemed to be trying, yet service was slow for egg orders and refills of pastries and fruit. There wasn't much choice for a four-star breakfast either. We waited for our favorite croissants, then at 8 AM were told there was no stock left, even though breakfast runs until 10. Haha. The separate requests for sunny-side-up eggs and omelettes also took time. Still, I'd recommend the hotel, just keep breakfast expectations modest.

I spent four months at Richmonde Hotel Eastwood and felt at home throughout the stay. The staff were friendly, well-mannered, and ready to help, and their attention made a real difference over that length of time. Breakfast was a highlight. I often asked for Indian options, and the kitchen consistently prepared tasty, authentic dishes. I also kept up my fitness routine using the clean, well-maintained gym and pool. With the good food, useful facilities, and welcoming service, I had a great experience and would recommend the hotel for either a short trip or a longer stay.
