The resort had what we needed to slow down, and the staff were friendly. A couple of times, though, people played videos loudly on their phones in public. That really broke the peaceful mood for me, especially in a place focused on hospitality. We came in early March, a few weeks before peak season, and had the place mostly to ourselves for the first two nights. Being away from the busier part of Baler suited us, with the beach and both pools quiet and open. The rooms were fine, though the curtains across the entire front meant privacy felt uncertain if they were even slightly open. We also would have preferred streaming options over cable TV, even though watching TV wasn't why we came. I'd recommend it in the off season if you're after quiet while still having easy access to town.

The rooms were clean and roomy, and the staff were accommodating. We also liked the home-style food at the onsite restaurant, and the price seemed reasonable. It's a beachfront resort with a pool and a wading pool. The out-of-the-way location is handy if you want to disconnect, though it isn't a good fit if you want to be near the social scene or surfing action.

The rooms looked really nice, but the stay wasn't worth the price or the drive. There isn't much to do here beyond enjoying the quiet. In B1, the AC barely worked, so we asked for fans. Luckily, they lent us two. Breakfast took an hour, and the portions didn't justify the high price plus the 10% service charge. They also charge one peso per g/ml for corkage, which is ridiculous.

The biggest problem was the restaurant service. On our first evening, we had ordered at 9:10pm, with closing time listed as 10pm, but supervisor Ron insisted we leave at 9:30 so staff could clean and mop. He told us in Filipino that we couldn't stay and that our order would be moved across from our rooms. When 9:30 came, I asked for five more minutes because I was on the phone. He said no and told us to move. I got irritated and reminded him that we had booked five rooms and expected a little hospitality. He turned away, picked up a tray, and took our food outside. It was only 9:40 when we left, and by 9:45 the lights were off and the employees were waiting by the front office to go home at 10. The next day, after we'd been out and returned around 5pm, we decided to put seats together outside our rooms for dinner instead of going to kubli, which is 28min away. At 6pm, Ron was taking advance dinner orders from other rooms and got to us last. My brother asked if we could order later. Ron said, “yes sir last,” then walked off. We couldn't tell if he meant our order would be last, or if 6pm was the last chance to order. After the previous night's treatment, this felt like the same problem all over again. Management should address it, because guests may stop coming. The restaurant should expect that some guests want to stay a little past 10pm, or at least until its stated closing time, especially since there's no night activity around the area. The manager should guide the supervisor better. Our room was clean and refreshing, the bed was as comfortable as before, the air-conditioning was very cold, and the hot water stayed consistent. It was our second visit with family, and we'd booked five rooms. We could have had another peaceful stay and caught up with family who came from Dubai, but the service made it very disappointing. Even when we stayed outside our rooms, we looked for the guard at reception to ask for water. Both nights, we found him in the barracks playing on his cellphone. I wonder about guest security if he's there instead. I hope management deals with these issues soon. This second stay was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

The room was great, but the rest of the stay was frustrating. Breakfast is listed as 7 AM to 10 AM, yet staff told us we had to arrange it ahead of time. Am I supposed to schedule when I get hungry? 😂 The pool wasn't cleaned until late in the day, so it wasn't really usable in the morning. At night, my son asked to have the lamp facing the ocean turned on. The staff either refused or it may not have been working. We were charged for bringing in our own food even though we'd eaten dinner at their restaurant. Some people have allergies or dietary restrictions and need particular food, so I thought they'd understand. We were charged P50 for each of our 10 beers, too. 😮
