Espacio Verde Resort

There could be more to do here besides kayaking, and the waterpark would be nice if it were better maintained. Still, the kids had fun in the pool, and we enjoyed eating at the restaurant across from it. The food was great, our room was clean and spacious, and the staff were attentive and friendly. We had a great staycation.

The mattress was the best I’ve ever slept on, and the lagoon has free kayaking. Airport transfers and Wi-Fi are free too. I stayed a few nights while recovering from a cold, and found the hotel clean and comfortable, with staff quick to help. I’d recommend it to Western visitors. Two things let it down for me. The toilet door’s thumb lock can click shut by accident, leaving you locked out until reception brings a key. And the food was far too salty for my European taste. My £40 steak was ruined. If the kitchen left salt off, diners could add it themselves.

The room decor was lovely, and I thought the food was superb. The hotel exceeded my expectations. I’ll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Roxas, Philippines.

The safe box alarm kept disturbing our sleep all night. Breakfast was awful too. It was mostly cheap canned food, apart from the eggs. I’ve never stopped at just one plate at a buffet before, but this time I couldn’t even finish my first serving.
