Amalfi718 Hotel

Right across from SM and along the highway, this is a handy place to stay in Lipa, Batangas. The executive room I booked was huge and had its own garage, but I thought it was pricey. The bed was strangely shaped, very long but narrow, like it could fit four or five short people lying down. The bathtub looked promising, though there was no hot water. There are old fixtures and furniture around. The friendly, accommodating staff were a bit of a consolation, but only a small one.

The location worked really well for us, within walking distance of SM and Robinsons Lipa, and there was free coffee at reception. We booked two rooms through Agoda for a weekend staycation and got one free upgrade to a suite when we checked in. Breakfast is buffet style from 6:30am to 9:30am. Good amenities and helpful staff.

It was fine for a stopover and a night's sleep, but the price felt too high for what we got. Google Maps showed PHP2,400, but on arrival it was 3,100, quite a jump. Breakfast was included and had a pretty good range of options. Still, I found it hard to justify the cost. It wasn't a bad place to stay, just not good value for money.

I chose the hotel for its location across from SM Lipa City and near some decent restaurants. On our second night, my husband became so sick that I had to take him to the ER. I asked the front desk whether I could get a refund to help with the hospital bills, and they were kind enough to return my money after asking for some paperwork as proof for their files. I really appreciated that. If I’m in the area again, I’d book this family-oriented hotel without hesitation. More power to you.
