Olive Hostel Roxas City

My son had stayed at Olive Hostel in Roxas City twice before, so I finally tried it myself. Now I see why he likes it. It's cozy and calm, especially at night with the garden and warm lights, and the friendly, accommodating staff made us feel at home. The container van rooms are nicely designed and comfortable. Ours was clean, the air conditioning was cold, and there was a hot shower. WiFi is free, and the smart key cuts the power when you take the key out, a nice energy-saving feature. Breakfast was included and tasted good. My wife chose the place and really likes it, so it will be our first choice when any of us visits Roxas City again.

They didn't provide the complimentary breakfast, and I found the staff rude and unprofessional. During an event in Roxas, they seemed to favor locals over other guests and even refused room extensions. The staff need more training and experience, at least to secondary school or college undergraduate level. Some of the manangs were very rude.

Even though we gave notice, the staff wouldn't let us extend our stay. They made us check out, saying another customer had a reservation. It felt like they treated us like trash and wanted us off the premises right away because we're not locals and don't know the city.

My husband and I stayed one night. The place was clean, the staff were friendly and nice, and breakfast was included. They even upgraded our room without changing the price, which was great. A good budget-friendly hotel.
