Poleng Villa Hotel

The bed was good, the staff were nice, and the rooms had simple furnishings. Still, it was an average hotel for me. There was no cable TV during my stay, and the air conditioner had no remote, so that's a star off. I'd avoid weekends next time. Lots of Filipino families with kids come for the pool, and it got noisy all day and even into the night.

The service was poor for what they charged, and I'm not coming back or recommending it. They say SM is within walking distance, but it isn't. A trike costs 100 pesos each time you go there. I suggest using a Grab car instead, since it costs the same and is more comfortable. The pool was dirty, with leaves and plastic floating in it. I used the net to remove plastic while four staff members watched without offering to help. The rooms also weren't well maintained: my room had dust, and the bathroom in our second room smelled. My sister ordered room service, but staff came back with food in plastic bags. It seemed like they had bought it from a carinderia. The taps tasted disgusting, and I spat mine out as soon as I tried it. They charge hotel prices for what looked like street food. The cable service was too slow to watch TV. Wi-Fi worked well the first night, then was nearly unusable the second.

The room was clean and nice, but it cost too much for the experience. The pool and bathroom were dirty, the toilet flush was broken, and there was no hot water. Internet was very poor and cable TV wasn't connected. Staff offered no customer service, and the hotel was difficult to find.

The hotel was easy to reach by public transport, and the staff were friendly and respectful. They seemed to clean the pool regularly, though mosquitoes were noticeable both inside and outside the rooms. There was a water outage at 3 a.m. and the hotel had no tank for situations like that. We left without bathing.
