The fish and vegetable curry brought me back here several times. The food is tasty and very affordable compared with other places. Everyone was welcoming, and the wifi was good.

I was here back in 2009, when Port Barton was still a quiet village away from the usual routes. They’d just built their first bungalow then, and it cost a fraction of what it does now. The accommodation has become much more expensive, but I still like eating at the restaurant. Food costs about the same as elsewhere in town, on the pricey side, and the quality is good. They also have Port Barton’s cheapest beer, which is a nice extra.

We first stopped in just to eat, and the food was so delicious that we returned for lunch and dinner every day we were in Port Barton. The meals were fresh, service was great, and the prices were pretty good. We especially recommend the chicken tinola, a clear gingery soup, and the pork afritada. We couldn’t get enough of them.

We only wound up here because our other accommodation was overbooked. We think that was a scam to fill this horrible place. The hut had thin walls and windows that wouldn’t close, so noise from the hostel bar opposite and the street made sleep impossible. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the pillows were old, flat, and smelly. Almost transparent curtains let the light from the porch across the way into the room all night. The bathroom was filthy and didn’t even have a toilet seat.

The food isn’t bad, but there are much better options around.
