Shenamae Pension

I’m a solo traveler, and I’m sharing what I found so you can decide for yourself. Follow me on IG at @wandererva *** Room #04 had no air conditioning, but it was comfortable enough because the tree cover kept things from getting too hot. The area is generally quiet, and most shops close at 11pm. It’s a peaceful place to stay in Barton, and the owner and staff are accommodating. The toilet and bidet could use improvement. There’s no hot shower, though that wasn’t a deal breaker. Data and internet reception in the room are limited. Since I work at night, I used the reception area, where the internet connection was faster. I had a great stay and hope to return to Barton.

A lovely little find in a great town. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there’s free water and coffee. My room was clean and comfortable, with good air conditioning and a small terrace out front. The beach is really close. I’d recommend it!

A nice spot with good vibes, especially if you’ve traveled a bit and aren’t expecting a Sheraton hotel out here.

It’s in a great spot, just a few minutes on foot from the beach, with lots of places to eat nearby and the bus terminal only five minutes away. The owner is very helpful with bookings, and there’s free coffee and tea in the morning plus water refills all day. Prices are affordable. The room was standard in size, but the WiFi was extremely weak in there. No toilet paper or toiletries were provided, and the mattress was really thin.
