The kids loved having the beach as a playground, and the water at Pundaquit is generally good for swimming. For our family celebration, the resort was budget-friendly and had the basics we needed for a post-New Year getaway. It was lively and crowded during the holiday peak, with plenty of other families around. The sand had trash and dog poop, so we had to keep a close eye on the kids. The resort’s “paradise” name could use more regular upkeep from staff. Karaoke played loudly for much of the day, which may suit the fiesta mood but can be a lot if you want peace. At least the music stopped promptly at 10:00 PM, apparently following local rules, so we got a decent night’s sleep.

I felt very safe here, even at night, and the people are a big reason I’d come back. The owners and staff were warm, helpful, and kind, as were the locals. The property is right on the beach, and food stalls nearby make up for the lack of a restaurant. Rooms are simple, but that was fine for me. There’s no hot shower, which didn’t bother me on sunny, hot days, and there are enough outlets to charge devices. The rates seem in line.

The beach itself is amazing, but staying here was a bad experience. The people managing the place were unkind, and I spent my money for nothing. I wouldn’t recommend it.
