RMS Travellers Inn - Hostel

The rooms are affordable, and they even offered us a student discount. Everything was clean and well maintained, which made the stay comfortable. The staff were welcoming, especially kuya, whose name I unfortunately didn’t get. He was really accommodating and lent us an extra helmet and slippers for free. A great choice if you want a clean, affordable, welcoming place without giving up good service.

“RMS Thieves Inn” is what I’d call it after this stay. There was no running water, and the room was dirty. Worse, some of the money in my backpack in the room was somehow stolen. The owner was in Manila and refused to speak to me on the phone about it. The police came, but nothing came of it. People should know about this, especially since booking.com did absolutely nothing and is still working with them. The island is nice, but stay somewhere else.

The location is convenient, right in the heart of Camotes, close to most markets and restaurants and central for getting around. The staff are friendly and easy to approach. Still, don’t expect much from the stay-in, it’s very basic and the rooms need improvement. Our sink leaked. If you’re a tourist, there are plenty of other staycations at the same price that are nicer and include breakfast. 😉

The staff were really nice, and the place is very cheap for what you get. The mattresses are hard, which suits me, and water is free. There’s a very cheap laundry place next door, where you can also charge your globe data. The Wi-Fi didn’t work too well, though.
