Boochee Beach

We loved the snorkeling from the beach and saw lots of turtles. The relaxed setting is a good fit if you want to get away from the bustle of Dumaguete, while still being close to ferry connections to other islands. We had a fabulous vacation here, with comfortable accommodation and brilliant food.

There are enough seats and a few hammocks for customers, and the entry fee was around 100 php per adult. The snorkeling was just satisfactory. Most of the coral, at least 95%, was dead, though the fish life was still surprisingly abundant and varied. The beach itself was only okay, with a few bits of glass, which seems typical of many beaches in the PI. I probably won't return since there are plenty of similar places to explore.

A cozy, clean beach with coral and lots of marine life for snorkeling. The owner is very welcoming and friendly, and keeps upgrading the amenities. It's a great spot for private gatherings, and it beats going to crowded places in Dauin. Workshops for kids are coming soon, so keep an eye out.

The laid-back atmosphere made this a great place to unwind. I stayed in the Dormitory Nipa Hut and was lucky to have it to myself. There's a spacious, open-plan kitchen under a roomy roof. Booking by SMS through the phone number on the Google Maps listing was easy, and they replied promptly. It's about 45 minutes north of Dumagete and roughly 1 km south of the Tampi Ferry terminal. Kyle the manager was very attentive to my requests. I chose to pay a little extra for the daytime guests who visited me.
