Sikatuna Beach Hotel

The rooms are clean and the food portions at lunch and dinner are good for 2-3 people, all at cheap prices. The accommodation itself is inexpensive too. Just bring a thicker blanket or sheet if you plan to run the AC, since it gets cold. Some parts of the property could use renovation to draw more visitors. And if you’re eating dinner, get to the dining area by 6 pm. Once it gets busy, ordering is difficult.

The location is great, right by a beautiful stretch of beach. The TV only had 2 channels. On the second day the restaurant was swamped with government employees because Marcos came to town, and there was just 1 server on duty. We ended up going to McD.

The cakes are a real highlight, high quality and not just good, but great. I’d recommend them to anyone visiting San Jose. The food is okay otherwise, and the service is great. It’s a beachfront property, about 5 minutes from the airport, though the beach itself is just so-so. The hotel is a little old, but well kept.

The hotel is convenient, near town, restaurants, stores, banks, and the beach. You can walk along the shore and enjoy the view while eating. Facilities and food are okay, and overall it’s an okay place to stay. Service is why I’m giving it only three stars. Meals took more than 30 minutes, and coffee or condiments took ages when we asked. At breakfast on our first day, we got a pitcher and glasses. The next day they served bottled water instead, and charged us for it. That was especially disappointing.
