Lanas Beach Resort - Carabao Island

Lanas is a cozy, clean, and well-kept resort, and for us it’s the best place to stay on Carabao. The staff were attentive, friendly, and clearly well trained. We enjoyed the tasty food, with fair prices. The beach directly in front was okay, though the rest of it unfortunately wasn’t as clean. One thing that bothered us was the spring mattress: the whole bed shook when we moved, and the springs squeaked. That’s just our personal impression, though.

After riding a motorbike in the heat, we came into the restaurant and no one greeted us or offered water. The food took over an hour, and nobody told us how long the wait might be. We ordered four mango shakes at ₱180 each and found bits of plastic in every one. The waitress thought it might have come from the ice, but there was no replacement or other solution offered. It put us off our food and spoiled the experience. We left very dissatisfied and wouldn’t recommend the restaurant.

We rented a scooter to explore, and the sunsets here were stunning. The room was clean and had a great ocean view, and the staff were really friendly. We had a great stay at Lana’s Beach Resort, and it was good value.

There were no other guests during our three days there, just the three of us. The staff were lovely, the rooms had recently been refurbished and felt brand new, and the hotel sits right on the beach. We also got some very nice sunsets, and the food was good. Snorkeling right outside the hotel wasn’t much to write home about, though. There were just a lot of starfish, and I mean a LOT. Even so, I’d go back in a heartbeat.
