Country Gold Resort

The resort is right by the beach, but the waves were too big for kids to swim, and there wasn’t anything else to do nearby. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless management makes improvements. Our room was large but missing basic things like tissues and a bidet. The shower didn’t work properly, the toilet didn’t look sanitary, and the beds were uncomfortably thin. The living room shown in the ads wasn’t usable: it looked unkempt, and staff were always lounging there with their legs up. The pool was okay, but the slide was under construction when we visited, and the site hadn’t been updated. The kids were excited to use it and ended up disappointed. Service was poor. Staff seemed annoyed we were there, were often on their phones, and didn’t greet us. They also asked for payment as soon as we arrived, before we had time to unpack or rest. In my experience, payment is usually made online before arrival or at checkout. This was probably one of the worst resorts I’ve been to.

We arrived to find rubbish scattered around, and even though we’d reserved a room, had to wait half an hour while they got it ready. The photos didn’t match the actual rooms or pool, and the slides weren’t available. There was only one kitchen, so guests had to wait to cook. It was a terrible experience, and we ended up having to find another resort.

The place has a pool and a nearly secluded beach, and it’s about half a mile from flotsom. For a group of 14, the family-size room costs 10 12k and has two rooms that sleep four each, plus a long hallway with a kitchen and table area. There’s room for mattresses in the hallway, and extra thin mattresses cost 500p. It has two bathrooms. A one-person room is 2.5k.

We had a spacious room for six, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. There’s parking, and when we visited in August it felt very private. Cooking inside is allowed, so bring your own food. They don’t have snacks or a menu, but you can buy drinks. Some things weren’t in the room when we arrived, but they brought them for free when we asked, including an extension cord, AC remote, room keys, towels, and tissues. They also let us keep using the outdoor videoke area after checkout. We booked through AirBNB and could only pay in cash.
