Bauan Divers Sanctuary Resort and Hotel

You pay once for the room, drinks, and food, which makes staying here easy. It’s a big, modern resort, but still has a family feel. The food is great, the boat boys are good, and the drivers are the best you could ask for. Always a pleasure coming here.

The restaurant has a lovely view over the bay, and the food is both plentiful and delicious. The rooms are fantastic, too, and the staff are attentive. There are loads of fish and little creatures to spot on the easy local dives, so it’s a great place for divers looking for a few relaxed outings. A few things could be better. The non-diver rates are ridiculously high and can put off whole groups. Some areas are slippery enough to be dangerous, and the pool looks worn and needs maintenance. It only reaches 2m, which is a shame if you want to practise scuba exercises there.

The water went out on our last day, just as we were getting ready to leave. We couldn't shower in our room, but when we told the staff, they let us use the Spa shower while they worked on it. It was the first time I'd run into this issue here, so it wasn't a big deal. I've stayed a few times and think this is one of the best resorts. The staff are friendly, the food is great, and the family room where we stayed was spacious. The supermoon on our night there was breathtaking. It rained during the day, but we were still able to dive.

The rooms are well equipped and made for a relaxing rest after diving. The accommodation is superb, and from the resort you get a great view of the coastal areas of Batangas. There are plenty of shore entry points for reaching the nearby dive sites. I took my Advanced Open Water SCUBA course here, and this place felt like a real sanctuary for divers and anyone curious about underwater life.
