Chef Panyang Beach Resort 2 Okoy

We had booked a van from the port to this undeniably beautiful resort, but when we arrived, we were told it wasn’t available. We had to take a tricycle and split the cost 50/50, which we hadn’t expected. The promised van still wasn’t available on the day we left either. For our land tour, we’d expected an air-conditioned van, especially in the bad weather, but were given a small open jeepney that made the trip uncomfortable. There were also so many mosquitoes that our young son got numerous bites during our two-night stay, which really affected our comfort. I hope these problems can be addressed so future guests have a smoother stay.

The beachfront view is nice, and the rates are cheaper than at other resorts nearby. Service was average. It can be hard to find: the entrance is along the highway, but you still need to walk about 200 meters to the actual resort. They serve food, though it took around an hour to an hour and a half to arrive. If you’re on a limited budget and want the experience of being a tourist, this place could work.

My family and I had a really bad experience. There were water shortages and power blackouts, and the service wasn’t great. We had to keep asking for things we needed, like hot water and coffee glasses. It lacks the amenities and service to be called a resort, so I think it’d be more accurate to call it a hostel or inn.

We stayed one night at Chef Panyang Beach Resort 2 Okoy for an early birthday celebration, and it was a great stay. The place is quiet, has a lovely morning view, and everything is accessible. A staff member picked us up at the port, and they offer a free shuttle both ways. The budget-friendly room was clean and organized when we arrived, and everything worked, including the AC, orbit fan, and faucets. The toilets were clean and well maintained. We booked a room with breakfast. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, and the food was good. They served us a silog meal with coffee for breakfast. Tourist spots are nearby, and you can rent a motorbike from the resort for 350 pesos for 24 hours. A great place for one night or longer.
