The room was nice, and there’s a great sea view, but getting to the beach isn’t straightforward. You need your own transport or have to ask the resort to arrange a ride. There’s a short wall between you and the shore, and jumping it isn’t a good option, especially if you’re with an older person like I was. There are lots of rules here. If you’re hoping to wander barefoot to the beach and enjoy a relaxed island feel, this probably won’t suit you. The staff are friendly, at least.

I didn’t stay here myself, but relatives did, and they found the place poorly maintained. The buildings and rooms were in disrepair. They spotted bugs by the bed and were moved to another room that wasn’t much better. We also saw just one employee handling check-in, preparing complimentary drinks, and bringing them out. The tap water is salty, or brackish, and my relatives said it left them feeling uncomfortable and their hair frizzy. Other resorts and Airbnbs nearby have better water. Management hasn’t installed a municipal supply. Be ready for a disappointing stay.

The port was the biggest problem for us. Ferry horns started around 5:30 in the morning, loud enough to wake us, and ongoing pier construction added more noise. The beach was also strewn with rubbish and debris, apparently blown in by the seasonal wind. We wound up going elsewhere to swim and spend time at the beach. The resort itself was pleasant, with nice rooms and bathrooms, well-kept grounds, and helpful, friendly staff.

If you’re after quiet and your own space, this is a lovely spot. It’s so peaceful that I missed the social meetups I usually enjoy, but you’re left to yourself here. The villas are spacious and beautifully made, with comfortable beds and quiet, effective air conditioning. I also loved the outdoor shower and the high ceilings that make everything feel open. It’s a stunning place, the sort that makes you reach for your camera, and I thought it was good value. The staff were polite and quietly efficient. Enjoy.
