Floating Sanctuary by Cocotel

Our vacation turned into a nightmare, and everything was so expensive that we felt we were bleeding money. They seemed to find plenty of ways to charge extra. The place was cramped, more like a refugee camp than a sanctuary, and the service was poor. Rusty metal was everywhere and scratched my leg while I was walking. The pool water was already yellowish and smelled foul, and there were cockroaches, bed bugs, and other pests and insects. Stay away.

The food was poor and ridiculously expensive, and the resort kept pushing its own website policies even when they conflicted with earlier agreements. It also seemed to disregard online bookings. Staff behavior and service made the stay worse, and I felt they lacked basic hospitality training. Pet owners should be warned: despite what they claim, this place isn't pet-friendly. They insist you use their dog hotel, a cramped, cage-like space that seemed more suited to reptiles than pets. That made the stay stressful and upsetting. This was the worst resort hotel experience I've had, and I won't book here again. For a place calling itself a sanctuary, it felt like a piece of trash. If I could give it less than negative 100, I would.

The pool was poorly kept, with green slime covering the tiles, and service in the area was weak to nonexistent. The Wi-Fi was slow too. We booked a room for four, but were charged an extra 1k for the fourth person, who only decided to sleep with us since there were just three of us. The food portions were tiny for the price. Also, the photos showed two separate double beds, while the room we got only had a pull-out. It wasn't what I expected.

I've stayed at more than 100 hotels, and this was the worst. The sheets were moldy and there were cockroaches. The price was ridiculous too: I booked for 7000p on agoda, which said it could fit 4 adults and 1 child, but at the property they told me there'd be another 500p for a child and 1350p for each adult.
