I only planned to stay a night and ended up here for nearly a week. Karl and Lyn are lovely hosts, always happy to help and have a friendly chat, and the food was both tasty and filling. Tourism students do their internships here, so there can occasionally be a few little hiccups, but things are always excellent. Come as a FRIEND instead of a BOSS and you’ll definitely enjoy the place. One of the few places that still feels heavenly.

The chicken sisig was expensive, bland, and honestly minging. What I got looked unappealing and tasted like the plainest chicken curry, with none of the character of sisig. I asked the staff several times if they’d got my order right, and they said it was chicken sisig. I managed about a quarter before I gave up. For anyone who knows the dish, it should arrive sizzling in a hot pan with an egg. This was nowhere near that. The menu needs a serious rethink. I wouldn’t recommend eating here, it’s misleading and disgusting. 🤮

The beach is the real draw at 3B: the rooms are only a few steps from the sand, sunrise is lovely, and it’s a nice place to swim. Public cottages next door can get busy, and their karaoke carries over sometimes, though that’s outside the resort’s control. My room was modest but good for the price. The shower was fine, but the route to it was poorly lit at night, which I mentioned to the owner’s wife. Food choices were limited, although I liked the chicken burger. I came to Alegria Beach for two nights to see more of Siargao, and 3B seemed sensible for a budget trip. The tuktuk ride took around an hour and a half. I booked a Budget Room on Agoda after checking the amenities, which listed air-conditioning. At check-in I found the room only had a fan. A portable AC room cost an extra Php 200 per night, and since I was tired from the journey, I paid. Then the internet went down just when I had a report due within the hour. Staff sent me to the neighboring resort to get online. The owner’s “What can I do?” felt dismissive. A technician was supposed to come the next day, but the issue remained. His wife suggested moving a table near the Globe router under a tree. The signal was still very slow, but I could finish my work, and her practical help made a big difference. I also found the owner rather indifferent, while his wife and the staff were warm and hospitable. The property is good value if you want a budget beachfront stay, as long as you keep your expectations in check about the owner’s hospitality. If you can spend more, DaRosa Del Mar may be a better option.

The place felt like paradise, with huts right by the beach and gorgeous sunrises visible from where we stayed. The dogs there are adorable too. We weren’t sure about traveling all the way north in Siargao, but we’re so glad we made the trip, it was absolutely worth it. We were welcomed so warmly, and the people here helped us with everything from renting a scooter to arranging an airport transfer. The food was delicious, and even though vegetarian dishes weren’t listed, they made some for us. We rarely met people this friendly and helpful during our time in the Philippines. We’d absolutely recommend the place. Thanks for everything! :)

The restaurant was a highlight, with superb Filipino food. They even prepared fish sinigang though it wasn’t on the menu, and in my opinion it was the most delicious fish sinigang I’ve ever had. We spent 5 days and 4 nights at 3B Resort in Alegria. The staff were kind and helpful, the owner was nice and we often chatted, and the white sand beach felt like our own little paradise. It’s a bit of a trip from the busy center of General Luna, but getting there and back was no problem. We enjoyed the rides and the beautiful island scenery. If you want somewhere quiet and relaxing away from the crowds, 3B Resort in Alegria is a hidden gem in Siargao.
