It's a fair distance from kilometer zero, the heart of the city, but the quiet and peaceful feeling here is a lovely surprise. The staff are so friendly, they make Puerto Princesa feel like part of the friendliest island in the world.

We got in a bit late because of transport and other delays, but the hostess was amazing and put us in a different room. It suited what we needed perfectly, and they even helped us get hot water for noodles.

Construction noise went on all day, which was the biggest problem. The dorm had a strong mold smell, and the pool was rarely cleaned. Even after cleaning, it still looked dirty. There were frequent power cuts, and Wi-Fi was down the whole time I stayed, just as it had been for the guests before me. I asked for a refund for the two nights I didn't stay, but haven't heard back.
