Coastal Haven Resort

I was very disappointed. Although the regular staff were kind and friendly, the manager didn’t follow through on several agreements, and I never got my prepaid money back. I felt ripped off. The place is still being built, so it’s definitely not a resort. Breakfast came cold, there’s no restaurant, and dining options are far away. I wouldn’t stay here.

It’s in a very local area, and the ride to the center by scooter takes quite a while. The walls aren’t insulated, so you hear the road, dogs, roosters, music, and other noise. The scooter was decent, and it was fine for a couple of nights. The owner wasn’t especially friendly. To clear up the confusion, this isn’t a hotel, more like a motel at best. I didn’t see the ‘European comforts’ mentioned in the previous review.

The breakfast was tasty, though really small. Apart from that, things were fine, but water was a serious problem: it was dirty from both the sink and shower, and often there wasn’t enough to shower or flush the toilet. They also don’t have a generator, so when the power goes out, there’s no electricity, sometimes for the whole day.

The receptionist went with us to the hospital and pharmacy twice when my girlfriend got sick, and the staff helped with everything else we needed too. The rooms were new, clean, and tidy. Breakfast was very good, and the whole place felt quiet and pleasant. Good place, caring people, and I recommend it.
