I loved staying at this homestay 😊 Sherry and her husband were so sweet and accommodating. I highly recommend it!

My trip was cancelled, so I booked this place through Agoda, then found another solution and cancelled just 5 minutes later. Agoda said the booking was eligible for a partial refund, with an option to request a free cancellation by contacting the property directly. I got in touch right away, but the owner or manager declined. I explained that it had only been a few minutes since I booked and cancelled. I could understand if it had been an hour or more, since they might have spent time making arrangements for my arrival. In that case, I’d have forfeited the booking and let it go. But the owner was inconsiderate and needs to improve their customer service. The small amount I paid was enough to teach me what their service is like. I won’t book here or recommend it to anyone.

The hosts were pleasant, and it’s about 6 mins from the port, but we didn’t enjoy our stay. The room was very basic, just a bed, small desk, and bathroom. The bed was so hard we both tossed and turned all night. The bathroom looked shabby, the sink was nearly detached from the wall, the shower never got hot, and the water pressure was awful. There were cockroaches in the room, and the AC was very loud, with about 2cm of daylight showing around each side. The grounds were messy, the floor was slimy and I slipped, and there were construction materials lying around. With gaps in the wall and lots of mosquitos, there was nowhere to hang mosquito nets. It wasn’t great. Siquijor is beautiful, but there are much nicer places to stay. I know it’s cheap, but I’ve had much better accommodation for the same price.

I just wanted a nice, quiet place, and that’s what I found here at @jameshomestay. The owners are educated, friendly, and hospitable. I enjoyed my stay, and it’s close to the port. Good value for money, recommended.
