RedDoorz near San Juanico Bridge Tacloban

We made a last-minute decision to stay in Tacloban for a night and brought our pet dog. That left us with very few options. This place is quite far from downtown, but we chose it anyway. I hope management pays more attention to cleanliness and service details. The lobby was nice, clean, and welcoming, and the front desk staff were very helpful. Wi-Fi is free. Breakfast isn't included, but it was surprisingly affordable and served hot, just how I like it. The restaurant had a nice ambience, music and board games were available, and the furniture looked nice and aesthetic. We also got fresh, clean towels in the bedroom. Housekeeping really needs to improve. The bathroom floor was wet when we went in, the pail was moldy, and there was a 10L bottle of water in the corner with dirty contents that I couldn't identify. There were visible cobwebs in the bathroom corners, and the doormat was dirty and sandy. The linens on the queen bed were new and clean, but the single bed had old, thin sheets. Dust had built up under the bed, and the floor needed a thorough sweep. Just sharing our experience, guys!

The breakfast was actually enjoyable, and the staff were accommodating, but we felt misled about what we booked. The app advertised air conditioning and free breakfast, yet neither matched what we got. The shared toilet was extremely clean, though. The building looks decent from outside, and the front desk seemed hesitant to show us our room, suggesting we upgrade instead. Please keep every room type clean. There are plenty of decent places for 1k, and the free breakfast was what drew us here.

For a budget stay, it worked out well enough: I slept well, the small screened windows let air through, and there was a shared dining and kitchen area with china, glassware, and dishwashing supplies. The reception area is nice, the restaurant is spacious, and affordable carenderia and sari-sari stores are only a few steps away. San Juanico Bridge is a few hundred meters away too. Our fan room cost 400 and was very small, with a common CR several rooms down. The place needs renovation, including some broken CR doors. Wooden walls do little to block sound. Towels were poor quality and filthy, the faucet water isn't potable, and a water dispenser would be useful. Motorcycle parking is along the highway with no guard on duty.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, but that was the only good part. The food was awful, like soap, and they still charged us for the terrible “garlic chicken.” Don’t order it, or just avoid the place. The sheets were yellowed and old, floor tiles cracked and stained, and the TV was about the size of an iPad. There was no Wi-Fi, and the AC seemed barely alive. The equipment needs replacing and the whole place needs renovation.
