Emiramona Garden Hotel

The rooms are generally clean, with air conditioning, cable TV, and private bathrooms. The staff were nice, accommodating, and very helpful. Emiramona Garden Hotel is a decent choice if location and quiet are what you're after. It seems best for a short stay, prayer retreat, or simple gathering. Ministry groups and wellness events may want to check the room conditions and amenities ahead of time.

The personnel were friendly, but I can't recommend the place. A lot of the facilities are obsolete, and things like the phones, TV, and fridge weren't working. The reception area was dark, there was mold in several spots, and we had mosquitoes and a cockroach in our room. The linens made us itchy. Overall it feels like a deteriorating hotel, and it's pricey too.

The property is gorgeous, the rooms more than adequate, and most of the staff were excellent. The front desk was the problem. It took three requests and eight hours to get our room cleaned. They didn't even contact housekeeping until they knew we were upset. When I asked for a supervisor's or owner's email, they gave me the email of a staff member who had been part of the problem. I didn't even get an apology. It's an absolutely beautiful spot, but I can't recommend it to anyone, especially foreigners, because of the front desk staff's incompetence.

For what it costs, this place isn't worth it. At around 15CAD, maybe, but for this price you could find somewhere much better. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, food service was kind of slow, there were ants in the room, and the bed was very uncomfortable. Roosters are kept right across the street, so if you can't tune them out, you won't sleep. The staff weren't friendly, and nobody offered to carry our suitcases up the stairs. There's no elevator, and they charge extra for towels. I'd never go back.
