Hotel Aroha

The room was quiet, and the location is pretty good, close to a few restaurants and near the city market. But the downsides outweighed those positives by far. For a 12 hour stay costing 2,100 in a "family VIP" room, I expected it to be cleaner. There were lizard and cockroach droppings all over the sheets, a moldy smell in the room, and dust across the bathroom floor. The bidet and shower didn't work, and there was no flush. It was clear the room hadn't been booked for a while. A reservation made 5 hours beforehand should've left enough time to clean it up a bit. Such a shame.

For me, this should get zero stars. The air conditioning was so weak that even the wind outside felt stronger. I told the staff, and they said the room would get colder with time, but it still wasn't cold by the time our hours of stay were over.

The location is nice, just before you reach Tagaytay. The room was clean and basic, and the staff were friendly. There was no Wi-Fi or toiletries. It cost 900 pesos for a 6 hr stay.

For 1k, we got a spacious room for 2pax for 12hours, with strong aircon. Extending costs 150 per hour. I'd expected the service and room to be poor for the affordable price, but I was definitely wrong. The service was good, and the food was delicious, freshly cooked rather than frozen and reheated. Food prices are reasonable, and some short orders are good for 2pax. They covered the food for delivery 👍 Definitely gonna come back next time we're in Tagaytay, and bring the family 👍
