Summit Ridge Tagaytay

The buffet and the crew working in the cafe section were the decent parts of our stay. Beyond that, it was a deeply disappointing experience, especially for a hotel advertised as 4-star. We paid almost ₱9,000 for one night for three people, including a wheelchair user. I was checking it as a possible getaway for my mother-in-law, visiting the Philippines from Europe, so we expected the service to match the price. Leaving was the worst part. A family was loading their cars, and 3-4 staff members were helping them while we waited with our wheelchair user. A luggage cart blocked the wheelchair ramp. Nobody moved it, offered help, or even acknowledged us for about 15 minutes. I didn't ask because they seemed busy and avoided eye contact. It felt as if staff were focused on the other family, perhaps expecting bigger tips, instead of noticing that we needed the ramp cleared. We weren't asking for special treatment, just basic courtesy and awareness. Getting there wasn't much better. I asked for a luggage cart and explained we had a wheelchair user, but was still asked whether I wanted one, as if it hadn't been clear. There were several interns standing around, apparently idle, and no senior staff or manager seemed to be supervising or guiding them. On Valentine's Day, with what I believe was also a wedding taking place, only one elevator was working. The hotel should have planned for a busy day, and the long wait was especially hard for guests with mobility challenges. Our room's air conditioning didn't work properly, so we called for service twice. The WiFi details were wrong, and our room number and last name hadn't been set up correctly in the system, which meant another call to get them fixed. For a so-called 4-star hotel, these basics were frustrating. The stay honestly felt like a low-grade motel, and I've stayed in motels with better maintenance. It was embarrassing because I'd proudly told my foreign companions this was a 4-star hotel, and then we got this experience. For nearly ₱9,000, I'd expect attentiveness, professionalism, and proper supervision, especially when interns are involved. I hope management takes this seriously and improves things. Guests with mobility needs deserve better.
