The Boutique Bed and Breakfast

We had the iLust room for one night, and the service was great. We also really liked the complimentary massage and drinks. The room itself was nice, but for a couple’s room at this price, we expected more privacy. The balcony sits right above the restaurant, so people downstairs disturbed us when they were hanging out. We couldn’t leave the curtains open and hardly used the balcony. The tub by the window was too small for two, and being just above the restaurant made privacy an issue there too. That’s why I can’t give it five stars.

My wife and I visit Tagaytay often and try a different hotel each time. The experience at The Boutique was better than the others we’ve tried, even the higher-end ones. We’d happily recommend the hotel and restaurant. The views were a big part of it, from the room and even the bathroom. We also ate at the Tsokolateria and Hawaiian bbq resto several times, and the food never disappointed. Every dish we ordered was great. Breakfast in bed was generous and delicious. They made the stay feel special with fresh fruit in the room, freshly made juice and a small snack on arrival, plus hot chocolate and a snack at night. There was also a short complimentary foot or head massage. The personalized soap, shampoo, and oil diffuser scent were nice touches, and the staff were very friendly. The view was the sort I’d expect at a much more expensive hotel, but the price here was relatively cheaper. Simply an awesome stay.

We had the baby back ribs, and they were the best part: tender, delicious, and especially good with the sauce. The food is great, though prices and the service charge are high. For us, it was worth it, and the service was good too. I’d like to come back. It’s a small, classy place with a menu combining Hawaiian BBQ and Tsokolateria. It suits a romantic date, especially dinner. I only wish they’d turn the balcony sofas around so diners could enjoy the beauty of Taal while eating.

The rooms are comfortable, and the staff are great. The food is excellent too, especially breakfast on your private terrace with a view of the Volcano. Getting down to the lake shore means taking a tricycle, but it’s easy and a pleasant ride along the winding road.
