The family running Open Doors Haven were wonderful. They went out of their way to make sure guests had what they needed, and I loved my week there. There are private and twin rooms, with either AC or electric fans, plus good WiFi, filtered hot and cold water available around the clock, two bathrooms and a shower, and a nice patio. They also rent motorbikes. It's a safe, convenient spot within walking distance of everything in town, and handy for both the airport and ferry port. I'd highly recommend this hostel if you want a good place to stay in Tagbilaran City.

The rooms were incredibly hot, and the hostel was very unclean. We also had more than £100 taken from a locked bag. The host was very nice, but she knew we were out exploring the island on bikes she had helped us rent, which made the whole thing feel sketchy. I wouldn't stay here.

The rooms were reasonably priced and the Wi-Fi worked great. The owner and her family were kind and really helpful, too. When our plans got complicated, she arranged a taxi rental for us. I'd recommend the place for a small group or someone travelling alone.

For 375 a night, the spacious fan room was a nice, affordable option. There's a shared living area, and the attendants were helpful and friendly. The place is within walking distance of Marcela and the seaport, near Bohol Tropics on Graham Street. They also provide free drinking water.

The free filtered water and strong Wi-Fi were the only real bright spots. The place had bugs, and cigarette smoke came through the windows because the back door was left open. They also charged me too much for a dorm, where I got the worst bunk bed of my two months travelling. I had booked a private room through Agoda, but the owner had given it away instead of holding it for the booking.
