Lost Horizon Beach Dive Resort

The pool is nice, the location is right in the main beach area, and there was parking for my motorcycle. I stayed three nights. The first night, I couldn't sleep because of what sounded like rats in the ceiling, and the toilet kept running. They moved me the next day to a room beside the pool, called a deluxe room. It was still dirty and outdated, had no toiletries, and the toilet wouldn't stop filling unless I lifted the lid and fixed it by hand each time.

I tried the beach restaurant once and wouldn't go back. The noodles had almost no flavor or seasoning, and there was barely any vegetable in the dish. I couldn't find any seafood in it either.

We had a modern room with a king bed. I can't say much about service since we didn't request room service or anything like that. The bathroom was clean, there's a cabinet of your own, and the water pressure and hot and cold shower were decent. For the price, the room was decent, so I'd rate it a 4. The air conditioner needs replacing, though. I didn't personally run into the problems other people mentioned, but experiences can vary. The pool is a little small, but it wasn't crowded, and the beach is only 15 to 30 steps away. They take cards as well as cash. If their menu doesn't suit you, there are other food options nearby. Don't expect a huge parking area like Jpark. The wifi wasn't congested, but don't expect much from it. I used Globe mobile data and got LTE; I can't speak for other networks. Panglao doesn't seem to have much 5G, and I don't understand why. Galaw2 LGU. Sigh.

We arrived at 1:30 pm without a booking, looked at the rooms, and decided to stay. After we paid, staff said we couldn't check in until 3 pm, even though we'd just seen the room cleaned. They said it still needed dusting. The poor front desk service set the tone for the stay. Every morning around 8, the cleaning crew laughed loudly and tossed garbage bags down the hallway outside our door, making it hard to sleep. At checkout, we asked to leave our bags and were told storage was limited to two hours. We had to persuade them to keep them longer since our flight wasn't until late that evening. When we came back, I politely asked if I could rent a towel and use the outdoor pool shower to freshen up before the flight. They rudely refused, saying we couldn't use any facilities after checkout, even for a fee. The rooms were below par, and the service was much worse than I expected, especially in a country known for its kindness.
