Ivory Hotel and Suites

I stayed at Ivory for three days and used two different rooms. The first was small but had a spacious bathroom, which I liked. The second room was better and much more spacious, though its bathroom was smaller. Service was good, and the staff were helpful, about the level I expect, neither above nor below. What won me over was the food selection. Everything I ordered was a real delight to eat, which is why I gave the hotel an extra star.

The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable, but we had some bathroom problems. Water came out of the lavatory faucet, and the toilet bowl sink was black. It took a while before the water ran clear. Breakfast wasn't included in the room rate. We arranged for 6:30am breakfast at check-in, but they kept calling us at 6am because it was already served. There's no elevator, so be ready to take the stairs up to the 4th floor.

Room #5 was spacious enough for 3 persons, and at P1500 it was a good deal with free breakfast for 2. The pool was dirty, and I spotted 2 cockroaches in the bathroom along with a few mosquitoes. The wifi didn't work in the room, though it was available in the lobby, and the front desk wasn't as welcoming as you'd expect. Otherwise, the experience was okay.

I didn't feel welcome during my stay, and the staff were unapproachable. The internet was slow and had limited coverage, and the service telephone was outdated and barely working. The CR smelled bad, the walls were dirty, and the lavatory was covered in stains. I'm definitely not coming back to this hotel.
