Hotel Mercante

We had a great stay at Hotel Mercante. The staff were very helpful, and we liked that it’s a pet-free hotel. The gated parking area nearby made us feel safe. They also have an e-bike to drop off and pick up the driver. Highly recommended! - Lian

I booked four rooms for my family and me, but the stay didn’t meet my expectations. We arrived about 30 minutes early and still weren’t allowed to check in. Serene at the front desk didn’t smile or make us feel welcome. We were told there were welcome drinks, but they were self-service. Some rooms need upkeep, and the shower went cold in the middle of using it, lol. The breakfast buffet was the same every day. We had dried fish both mornings, and with Vigan being known for it, why not serve longanisa? There wasn’t much choice, just common, cheap options. Some staff were nice, that’s about all I can say. I asked for mosquito spray and nobody responded. There also wasn’t much parking.

The location made getting around easy, with Calle Crisologo and nearby landmarks all within a comfortable walk. We also had free bikes to use and a corner with board games. Everyone on staff was kind and helpful, especially Stan and Pia, and the manager even invited us to their year-end dinner. It felt welcoming, and the stay was worth the money.

The room for our group of 10 was an 8/10. We had a little trouble sliding the bathroom door open and shut, but it was manageable. The lobby had books and mind board games, plus parking was available. My friends especially liked the complimentary breakfast, including the chicken soup and tofu, though I didn’t get to try it myself. The staff were really accommodating, and we appreciated Ms Serene. We spent two days here and liked the hotel more than we expected. 😍🙏🏻
