You can hear the horses' hooves on the cobblestones from this hotel on the main street, which is a unique touch. Breakfast was good, but the AC didn't work well and the place feels old and in need of updates. For what you get, it seemed a little pricey.

Breakfast was delicious, though tea was listed on the menu and wasn't available. I had to insist the next day that they get some from a nearby grocery store. An extra egg costs P 20 more. Service was good but basic. For an extra pillow, they charge another P100. At P3,800, this was an overpriced double room with breakfast. A local recommended it and said it was THE hotel where visiting celebrities stay. The room itself was spacious, quiet, clean, and had working AC, and the central location was great. Parking, though, was hard to find. The room needs a serious modern renovation. It was dark, with little light and no view from the window. There was no luggage rack, and the wardrobe had low shelves and no hangers. The bedside table was tiny, the toilet was small and dark, and the bathroom had a cheap amenity box, slippery shiny tiles, no bath mat, a cheap shower curtain, and no towel hooks. There was just 1 pillow per bed and only a small shelf by the sink. The toilet seat cover was damaged, the floor stayed wet because the sink leaked, the water pressure was very low, and there was no exhaust fan. There was no elevator, so carrying heavy luggage was a chore. They put up signs asking guests to save electricity, but left the hallway lights on during the day. The smoking area is inside the hotel by the staircase, with no exhaust fan, so smoke lingers as you walk upstairs. Smokers should go outside. It's sad they expect guests to pay so much for mediocre rooms. That seems to be the standard, though, since hotel rates in the country are the most expensive in Asia. Ordinary Filipinos can't afford comfort.

The location was really convenient, close to the main attraction streets and the bus station. The green salad and breakfast were good, but I didn't care for the coffee, lattes, or most of the other food options. I booked online and paid cash at the hotel, and the rate was much better through third-party booking sites than paying directly at the hotel without a booking. I arrived at 6:30am after an overnight bus from Manila, exhausted, and the front desk girl wanted to charge me a full day's rate for checking in then instead of at 2:00pm. I probably fell partly because I was so tired. The floors and stairs were extremely slippery, and I slipped from the top of the stairs to the bottom, landing on my back. I was badly injured for 5 days and stuck in the room, unable to move. The manager and staff helped a lot after I couldn't get up, stand, sit, or get out of bed or off the toilet. Still, I was expected to pay while I recovered. This review is based on spending 5 whole days in the room after falling on their staircase. The main-floor room had terrible water pressure and only cold water. There was barely enough water to shower, and I couldn't wash my hair because I wouldn't have been able to rinse it. I could hardly get the soap off my body. The bed was okay, cushioned with some kind of sponge, but the pillows were quite hard. Despite the fall, a girl who works there rubbed medical oil on my back and came back outside her shift the next day to apply the menthol medical oil again. The manager quickly arranged a heat pad, and staff kept refilling it with hot water whenever I asked. She made sure they attended to me and regularly changed the medical stickers on my back. I really appreciated how much the manager cared and made sure the staff looked after my needs. Recovering at the hotel was better for me than being in a hospital, where I would have had the same treatment, might have caught an illness, and been around many people. I was treated very well at NSCC hotel, thanks to the manager. Without her, the staff wouldn't have been as attentive.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the hotel sits right in the middle of vigan town, within walking distance of Calle Crisologo and other places of interest. The old-world charm was lovely, and the room was comfortable enough that I extended my stay from one night to two. Towels and sheets were fresh. Bathroom amenities were basic, but adequate.

We stayed at NSCC HOTEL VIGAN from Dec 23-27, but had to cut our trip short. The room had cockroaches, mice, and mosquitoes. There was no hot water, they didn't clean the room, and they never changed the linens or bedding. This was the worst Christmas ever. I think Agoda should refund me.
