I’m leaving my review here because they don’t accept reviews through Red Doorz. The hotel is very old, and the elevator wasn’t working. Our room was on the 4th floor, so the stairs were tiring. The way up looked dirty, almost like an abandoned building, and had a spooky feel. The room itself was large and clean, the AC worked fine, and the bathroom had a hot shower. There was no WiFi or the other basic amenities usually offered by Red Doorz hotels. If you’re not fussy and have a tight budget, it could still be a good choice.

I stayed one night as a solo traveler working remotely. The room was large, the AC was okay, and there was both hot and cold water for the shower. The door locks when you leave, so keep your key with you. The towel needs replacing. There was no WiFi in my room because staff said installation wasn’t finished, though it worked on the 7th floor in the restaurant. The front desk is on the 4th floor, where the rooms start. It costs 50php to get to the airport.

We got to check in early thanks to the kind front desk, though it took a while for the extra mattress, towels, and toiletries to arrive. The room was big, the price fair, and the location great. There’s no WiFi in the hostel and no bottled water. It’s a basic place if you don’t plan to spend much time in the room, but it has a hot shower and a surprisingly effective air conditioner that keeps the room cold. There’s a bed to sleep in before heading out to explore beautiful Zamboanga.

The staff were very nice, and the place is central and accessible, with huge, comfortable rooms. We arrived from Manila at 4am, even though check-in was at 3pm, and they let us check in very early. That gave us a chance to catch up on sleep after the early flight, and we could go sightseeing in the afternoon.

The room is really big, and most of the amenities are in good condition. At 800 pesos, it feels worth the price. I’d recommend this hotel to travelers looking for an affordable, comfortable stay in Zamboanga City.
