The Gateway Lodge

At Hotel Gateway, the location was great and the stay was good value. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the whole visit felt pleasant and relaxing. Service was excellent throughout. Mr Faiz Ur Rehman, Mr Abdullah, and Mr Adil were especially friendly and attentive. I’d definitely recommend Hotel Gateway for a comfortable stay.

The food was hygienic and tasty, and service was good. My family and I stayed for 03 days and had a very pleasant time. The place is in a populated area and felt safe. Mr. & Mrs. Jahanzeb, the owners, were humble and cooperative. They spoke with us personally, welcomed our feedback, and responded straight away. The staff were experienced and polite. Our guests eventually moved to a nearby place, where they could finally shower and have some peace. I strongly recommend against booking this place. I’d reserved a room for foreign friends, and we were shown and promised a first-floor room on video. When one guest arrived on the first night, they were given a basement room instead. We refused it and were promised the shown room the next day, but got the same story, so we had to accept a smaller room. Hot water was always missing. They insisted on providing just one towel for three guests, and the bedsheets were used. Breakfast was an absolute joke, and our guests had a horrible time. The place felt abandoned, with two young boys trying to manage it. They often slept late. One day, when we needed to leave at 8am, we had to nearly break down their door knocking. Eventually we climbed the gate to get out. The woman who took the booking wouldn’t take our feedback seriously or help us. She sounded like an entitled business owner, saying, “we have never had any complaints. You are lying”. When we hinted that we wouldn’t pay the remaining amount unless service improved, a tough guy called us. He bragged about how many hotels he owned and gave us a veiled threat that he’d come down and beat us :D

The staff made a real effort to keep my stay pleasant, and I was impressed by the cleanliness, comfort, and attention to detail. I had a fantastic time at this guest house. It works well for short or long stays, and I’d highly recommend it.
