I came to Karimabad without a reservation and found Mountain Inn Hunza while looking for somewhere to sleep. I wound up staying eight nights. The staff welcomed me, the rates were affordable, and the rooms were lovely with a comfortable bed. From the window there was an amazing view, and the curtains made the room dark at night. Hot showers were available most of the time, and the WiFi was good. It’s just off the main boulevard, so it was quiet for sleeping but still very close by. There was tea and coffee in the room, plus a TV that I didn’t use. The rooftop was great too. - Jake

We arrived in Hunza with no real plan for what to explore, and Kashif, the manager, looked after our group throughout the trip. He took us to lovely treks, arranged our rafting trip, ordered food, and made sure we were comfortable at night. The management were the kindest people I’ve met at a hotel. Without the people there, our trip wouldn’t have been nearly so memorable. Definitely five stars.

We stayed one night last week. The rooms and views were good, and the washroom water was hot, though it was the usual muddy Hunza water. The main problem was how cold the rooms were in October, like cold storage, with no heating. We had our two-year-old daughter with us, so after we insisted on a heater or blower, Shahjee, the hotel manager, arranged one.

The view from our room was great, and everyone was hospitable and helpful. Shahdavil uncle deserves a special thank you for making our stay feel like home. We had such a pleasant time and can’t wait to come back. I’d definitely recommend it to youngsters.

I spent close to a week here and had a great time. The rooms are spacious and well equipped in a modern Western style, and the view from the window of Baltit Fort with the over-7,000-meter Ultar Peaks behind it is amazing. It’s right in the city center, with good restaurants nearby. One of the hosts is always around to help and offer advice. Both hosts have been on numerous expeditions and can arrange pretty much any trek in the area for a reasonable price. I can really recommend the one-day hike to Hun Pass, the mountain between Karimabad and Ladyfinger and the Naltar Peaks. The views take in Rakaposhi, the Hunza Valley, hundreds of surrounding peaks, glaciers, and the Ladyfinger and Ultar Peaks.
