Tourist Cottage Hunza

The location was gorgeous, and the room was unbelievably clean, with extra beds and blankets. We were three people but had booked for two because money was tight. Owner ali kindly gave us the more expensive room so we could have the best experience, and we did. The staff were surprisingly kind and helpful too. I’d book tourist cottage hunza again whenever I visit hunza. W experience.

A road closure from skardu made us arrive six hours late for check-in. The staff handled it really well, upgrading us to a room with a better view and giving us extra towels.

The restaurant food was delicious and affordable, and the host was super friendly and offered great tours. Beds were comfy, the rooms were great, and there was hot water all day. I loved relaxing with a chai on the terrace, with its amazing mountain and valley views. I’m sad to leave and will come back. 10/10 recommend!

Musa, Ali’s brother, was the one who eventually sorted things out. He understood the problem, found us a much better room at a nearby hotel, and even paid the difference himself to make up for the mess. We had booked a standard family room through booking.com 15 days ahead. On check-in day, Tourist Cottage management said another family had overstayed and our room wasn’t available. They offered us rooms downstairs instead, but they were dark, gloomy, depressing, and poorly ventilated. The owner Ali was unsupportive and wouldn’t accept that he should have honored our booking by moving the family who overstayed into those awful rooms. There was a lot of arguing. Ali wasn’t cooperative, though his brother and cousin understood and did their best to accommodate us.
