I came from Quetta and went straight here because of the pictures, but the rooms looked nothing like them. They were filthy, full of pests, and had an unbearable smell. Every room they showed me was in the same state. I made the mistake of paying before seeing the rooms. I wanted to switch hotels right away, but the staff said I’d still be charged for a night even if I stayed just one minute after checking in, and they did charge me. I had to spend one night there, the worst of my life. At dawn I left for a nearby place called 12j hotel near firdous market, which was much, much better. Please don’t stay at or consider Gardenia hotel.

The rooms aren’t up to standard, and the staff are rude. If you check in at 5 a.m., they count your first day as ending at noon, charging a full day’s rent for just seven hours. Keep this scam in mind if you stay here.

The building’s five floors and large rooms hint at how grand the hotel used to be, but it’s now so run down that even one night is hard to manage. Hardly any room in the whole place is fit to stay in, each having one problem or another. There’s no more than one bulb or energy saver in any room, and the washrooms are dirty, with most basic amenities not working. It sits right in the middle of Barkat Market, one of Lahore’s busiest market districts, but offers little to its unfortunate guests.

It was a satisfactory stay overall, and a safe place to stay. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, so food wasn’t an issue. Water wasn’t available for a while during the night, though.

I had the worst experience. The rooms were a little good, but management was poor and the service was awful. There was a bad, smelly mess, and the lift wasn’t working.
