Sarah's Lodge

The view from the windows in the Cornwall Room at Sarah's Lodge was brilliant, and the place was peaceful. Caretaker Khadim was respectful. The carpets were dusty, the dining chairs had stains, and there was a little mold in the shower. Still, it’s in a quiet area away from Murree’s main rush, and I’d definitely visit again.

The rooms and views were nice, and the owner was cooperative, so the lodges themselves weren’t bad. But the attendant was rude and had a really strange manner. He’d come in whenever he wanted and didn’t respect our privacy. Because of that, I wouldn’t stay here again.

The family sleeping in the lounge and on the drawing room sofas made it hard to have any privacy, and someone even opened our room door at 1 a.m. I was travelling with my wife and baby, and we’d booked one room with an attached bathroom in the upper portion. The house has two rooms plus a drawing and dining room, but the other room was booked and its guests were spread through the shared areas. It’s a small two-storey house, and rooms are rented separately, though you can book a whole portion or villa. We stopped in Burban after losing hours in traffic at the Murree Expressway toll plaza on our way from Rwp to Kashmir. I’d seen the lodge’s Instagram presence, but I don’t know why people stay here. I wouldn’t recommend booking a room on its own. If you’re a big family, book the whole place.

The lodges are in a good location and are decent, but the person serving guests is arrogant, disrespectful, and slow. He comes in through the indoor staircase whenever he wants, with no regard for privacy, and the staff aren’t cooperative. The owner has supplied all kinds of crockery, yet guests aren’t given proper crockery, and he also refused to make a proper breakfast.
