The Legacy-British Era Cottages

The location at Legacy British Era Cottages was marvelous, with lovely views and a peaceful feel. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the staff were very friendly and caring. Our rooms were beautifully decorated and well kept, with all the amenities we needed. We had a fantastic stay and highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

Parking right by the room is the best part, and Idrees (caretaker) is accommodating and cooperative. I always enjoy having breakfast outside on the balcony. It feels like a second home to me. The living experience isn’t the very best, but it’s an amazing economical place to stay so close to Mall Rd.

We’ve really enjoyed staying here and plan to visit again. I’d recommend it if you’re after somewhere quiet and relaxed, just 2-3 minutes from Mall Road. There’s good, spacious parking, little noise, and roomy options for friends and families. They have single rooms with 3-4 beds, and a family of seven can use one room too. The garden and terrace are lovely for breakfast or evening tea. Prices are good, though book ahead for weekends and holidays. WiFi is available, and there’s cold and heated water, plus a heater for winter. You don’t need AC here in summer. Mosquitoes may be around depending on the season. They provide repellent, but it’s safer to bring your own. Food is available if you order in reasonable time, and the breakfast we ordered was good. The staff are courteous and helpful within reasonable hours. There’s UPS and generator backup for lights and fans, and a spacious staircase up to the terrace or balcony. A couple of things could be better: WiFi doesn’t have UPS backup, which I asked them to add, and room cleaning times need improvement. There’s no wheelchair access because of the stairs, though staff help you get up them. I suggested they add access and explained how, and hopefully they will.

There’s ample parking inside the hotel grounds, so you don’t have to worry about your vehicle. Parking can be a big problem in Murree, and this place makes that hassle-free. It’s also hardly a five-minute walk to Mall Road Murree, and the staff are very polite. The Legacy -British Era is an important historical hotel where Quaid e Azam and other Muslim League leaders stayed before partition. The rooms have been renovated and are good to stay in.
