Whispering Pines Hotel & Residences

Whispering Pines itself was lovely, but the customer service made the stay frustrating, and I'm unsure I'd visit again. Reception objected to our guests arriving even though I'd told the head office. They said the hotel would close at 9 pm. We arrived at 8:45 and had to argue to keep the restaurant open, despite being told at booking that it stayed open until 12 am. I checked in with my daughter, but they also made an issue of breakfast for my 4-year-old. Staff kept saying, “booking 2 adults ki thi,” and my husband had to persuade them repeatedly just to get her breakfast.

The food did arrive fresh and hot, but the villa had serious upkeep and hygiene problems for what they charge. Gas was leaking, and live wires on the balcony railing gave me a small jolt. That could be very dangerous with kids around. The sheets and pillowcases weren't clean, several lights flickered or didn't work, and the window blinds were broken. There was no landline in the bedroom to call reception or the restaurant. A hotel at this price should provide a clean, safe experience, or charge less.

We went to Whispering Pine Resort just once, for dinner. The setting was pleasant, neat, clean, and well maintained. The food was above average, though it wasn't especially tempting, and the presentation was only average too. There didn't seem to be good quality control: the “raita” clearly tasted off. When we pointed it out, the staff didn't seem concerned or keen to fix it. Better consistency with the food and presentation, along with more responsive staff, would make dining there much better.

We stayed one night. The location was excellent, though the rooms were only average and the service very poor. Food wasn't available at the restaurant, which made it a really bad experience.
