Wist Hostel

It’s permanently closed.

The room was spacious and tidy, and the service and breakfast were very good. It was set up for four people, though we were only two, and there weren’t enough cupboards for a room that size. The bathroom fan was noisy and there was no shower handle. We also didn’t get tickets to Energulandia. We’d been told about that and the dinner arrangements ahead of time, but a quick meal wasn’t what we wanted. Because of a mistake by the evening staff, we had to eat in a rush and felt nervous. We only found out the keys had been left somewhere else after reaching the restaurant, half an hour away. Even so, I’d recommend the place.

Breakfast was fresh, served buffet style for 15 PLN, and the staff were very friendly. I loved my stay and recommend a visit if, like me, you enjoy places with an unusual atmosphere. The hallway had a wonderful communist-era feel that took me back to my childhood. The rooms with bathrooms had been renovated and were clean, so recreating that bygone era there is difficult.

The bedding was relatively clean, and the staff were very friendly, but for the price the conditions were terrible. The room was very dirty and smelly, the toilet was filthy, and the shower floor was black. There was an unpleasant smell throughout the hostel, and the TV had sound but no picture. I strongly do not recommend it.
