Notera Hotel SPA

From the second-floor room, I could watch the sunset over the beautiful lake. The bed was comfortable, and everything was very clean. The spa and pool work well for adults and children alike. A coffee machine and a little milk in the room would have made the stay perfect, but I really enjoyed this lovely lakeside hotel.

Our three-year-old was happily occupied every day thanks to the activities laid on for children, so we didn’t have to figure out how to entertain her. We came back from a week at Notera feeling deeply relaxed and happy. I grew up near Charzykowy, before this beautiful place was built, and had always wanted to see it. My husband and I have travelled a lot as a family, and this is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed in. The food was proper Kashubian cooking, with great ingredients from the nearby forests. The spa had a wide choice of treatments, a quiet relaxation area with a salt cave, and a beautiful sauna. The location by my favorite lake was lovely, too. We’ve already booked another stay and hope to return to this Kashubian paradise at least once a year. The staff looked after us so well, and we felt spoiled and appreciated every day.

The gluten-free food made meals easy and enjoyable. Breakfast and dinner buffets had plenty of clearly labeled options, and most dishes were gluten-free. The spa has a lovely pool, and there’s a whole floor of amenities for children. It’s also pet-friendly. Set beside the lake in the Bory Tucholskie area, the hotel has beautiful views and a peaceful feel. There are hiking and biking trails nearby, and you can rent bikes right at the hotel. A great choice for an active, relaxing family break.

The balcony setup is a real problem: there aren’t proper screens, so you can see into your neighbours’ bedroom, and they can see into yours. The rooms themselves are alright, and the lake-side view is beautiful if you get that side. But I can’t see what justifies such a high nightly price. The restaurant is rather poor, and breakfast is about what I’d expect from a three-star hotel.
