Absurd. We booked a room more than a month ahead and had paid a deposit, but after cycling over 50 km we found out it was occupied. The owners apparently aren't communicating about their bookings. The woman we had dealt with had gone on vacation, wouldn't answer her phone, and hadn't told my husband she'd booked the room for me. We were left without anywhere to stay on a holiday, in a town more than 50 km away, with all the nearby accommodations already full.

No professionalism, organization, or respect for customers. One star only because zero isn't an option.

If you paid a deposit and then learned your room had been rented to someone else, with no way to reach the owner, try waiting at the entrance. Sooner or later a local lunatic will appear and crack jokes to cheer you up.
