The hotel’s location was good, and the two young women working in the restaurant in the evenings were very pleasant. The rest of our stay was awful. Our room, 101, was very dated, with no air conditioning. In July/August, opening the windows meant getting eaten alive by mosquitoes, so the room was unbearably hot at night. The walls had dirty marks, and the curtains looked as if previous guests had squashed mosquitoes on them. The toilet wasn’t properly fixed to the wall and made a horrible noise whenever we sat on it. The towels smelled musty, the bottom sheet kept coming off because it was too small for the bed, and the radiator was hanging off the wall. When we told reception, they said it had been like that for 3 years. Getting to the first floor meant taking the lift, since the stair door was locked. The landing had no window and felt stuffy and airless. Breakfast was not nice at all. The coffee was lukewarm, the scrambled eggs looked as if they’d been made and left in the warmer the week before, the fried eggs were rubbery, and the pancakes were so hard you could snap them.

We had a very comfortable stay at Jess KRÓLEWSKI Gdańsk Old Town. The rooms were spacious, clean, well designed, and had everything we needed, plus a stunning river view. The building also has some historical significance and its own charm. Its location in the heart of the Old Town made it easy to reach attractions like the Amber Sky and the scenic riverfront. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. With the views, room quality, and central location, it’s a great option for either a short or longer trip to Gdańsk.

The price was very good because we got an offer, and the hotel is right in the centre of Gdansk. Breakfast had a fairly wide selection and was quite good. The rooms are small, the bathroom is icy cold, and the welcome was cold too. The hotel does the job, but no more than that. At full price, I wouldn’t recommend it, as it isn’t worth that much.

We checked in and found bugs all over the room, on the bed, in the bathroom, and crawling on the walls. Reception told us there were no other rooms, with the woman there just shrugging, so we asked for a refund and a cab to the new hotel we had to book. The refund is still pending, and they wouldn’t cover the cab. Even reception had its own little swarm of flies overhead. Absolutely disgusting.

The view was great, but the staff handled a simple request badly and unprofessionally. We’re a couple who get up early and don’t eat breakfast, but always like to have coffee first. We asked if we could buy coffee one morning. After asking whether breakfast was included, the worker said he’d ask his friends, not colleagues, then came back and told us we couldn’t have or buy coffee without breakfast. We tried to explain that this seemed strange when we were paying 100€/night as hotel guests. Another worker then spoke loudly and angrily, saying we couldn’t buy coffee. It was around 7-7:30 in the morning, and we were on holiday. We ended up walking 20 minutes to find a coffee bar. If you skip breakfast but want coffee in the morning, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
