The location is the main plus, with anything you might want to visit or need just a one-minute walk away. The property itself was disappointing. The bed was far too small for two people, the cushions were paper thin, and cleaning was poor, with dust behind the bedside tables even though they weigh nothing. The mattress started sliding down, and we found strangers' hair stuck underneath it. The bathroom would randomly smell of sewage. The listing said there'd be a coffee machine, but there wasn't one. Our toilet was broken and someone came to fix it only the next day, after the water had run nonstop for at least 20 hours. The central location also means plenty of party spots nearby. It was extremely loud between Saturday and Sunday, so I'd recommend earplugs. Those four stars are for the location, not the property.

The building is historic, and it shares space with a university art department, which I found interesting. We were on the 5th floor; our rooms were comfortable, and the bathroom was new and spacious. The reception staff varied: one person was very friendly and helpful, a couple were okay, and one wasn't so helpful. The location is excellent, right in the center of the old town.

The location is absolutely perfect, and the place has more of a hostel feel. The room itself was only okay, though. The bathroom fixtures seemed made for very different heights: the toilet was set for someone over 2 meters tall, while the mirrors were low, as if for someone 1.2 meters tall. The shower head was filthy and couldn't be adjusted, so I had to hold it to get the water on me. The TV remote was dirty too. The room was so well insulated that it stayed too warm even with the heat off and the windows open in winter. We could hear chairs scraping and people talking or laughing above us every morning at 8:45, and people coming in late at night were easy to hear. You also have to request cleaning, toilet paper, and fresh towels. One glasses-wearing receptionist was extremely rude and unprofessional once. We had accidentally left the entrance door open, and she shouted after us into a busy public street to close it. It was embarrassing. We'd made a mistake on the original booking and hadn't reserved a room with a bathroom. We called within 30 minutes to change it, but they charged double the online price difference instead of honoring that price. We paid extra for an upgrade when we arrived.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly, and the price and location are hard to beat. Wi-Fi could be slow, though, and the lighting was generally poor. There were no outlets by the bed, even though the bedside lamp had nowhere to plug in, and the fridge was noisy. It's a good budget option if you won't spend much time in the room. If you need to work there or expect to spend your evenings in, I'd look elsewhere.

Loved the smell in the clean, cozy room, and the view from here is awesome ❤️. The location is excellent, right in the middle of Gdansk.
