Promenada Studio

The river views from the windows were lovely, and you can walk to the main city centre. Our top-floor studio was modern and very clean, though of course you need to be okay with the stairs. The staff were friendly too. We'd happily recommend it to family and friends visiting.

These are apartments rather than hotels, so don't expect full daily service. The rooms were very clean and well looked after, with a microwave, stove, utensils, and fridge. There's room for 3-4 people. The old town location overlooks the river, and each floor has a room with a window facing the sea. Boats to Westerplatte and Sopot leave right next door.

The location couldn't be better, and the stay was great value. It was a little chilly, but there was an electric heater. People walking past the closed shops can get loud, so bring earplugs. I loved my stay.

Our flat was on the fourth floor, and there was no lift, which might be a problem for some. The landlady was nice and spoke English. During the Saint Domingo festival, she got us a municipal permit to drive in and park, so that went smoothly. It's right in Gdansk's lively historic centre, though pub voices and music by the river carry through much of the night. If street noise keeps you awake, take earplugs.
