Quattro Loft Hostel

The place was tiny and very dirty, and the furniture was broken. We called the landlord as soon as we arrived, but he just told us to cancel, so we did. That means we can’t leave a review on Booking.com now.

The one thing I’ll remember positively is the location, right by Manhattan Gallery. The rest was in poor shape. There was dust everywhere, a dirty floor and a sticky desk when we entered. The AC didn’t work, two of the three bulbs were out, and the outlets caused equipment to overheat soon after plugging it in. Wallpaper by the bed was peeling, and everything in the fridge smelled bad after an hour. All three bathrooms had problems: mold on the ceiling in the first, with a shower door that wouldn’t close properly; peeling plaster from moisture along the wall and above the shower in the second; and peeling walls above the shower in the largest one, where a leak flooded the whole bathroom. The walls were so thin they felt like cardboard, so I wouldn’t recommend this place for couples or anyone wanting privacy.

I strongly recommend against staying here. The room was dirty and made a depressing first impression, with worn furniture and a leaking fridge. There were no sheets, and the old bedding didn’t feel fresh, though I hope it had been washed. The bathrooms were in very poor condition: leaking showers flooded them all, and there was no way to mop up. There wasn’t any toilet paper either. We tried to reach the manager about the missing sheet, but the woman hung up after a few words and then the phone was disconnected. The price was low, but the quality fell well below par.

The hostel has good technical facilities overall, with air conditioning and three bathrooms for seven rooms, and the bathrooms are clean. Still, it feels dirty and neglected, and the curtains look as if they’ve never been washed. The owner could be a little less reactive and just make a few adjustments; then it would be fine.
