My father ran this hotel as a director under communist rule, and from what I saw, nothing has changed since 1979. I was there today at 18.10 and waited more than ten minutes before a waiter came over, then another 40 minutes for my food. Two families seated outside ordered after me and got their meals well before mine. Mine arrived when they were nearly done. It felt horrible to be treated that way. The place is overpriced, and karpacz has plenty of cheaper places with quicker service. Avoid it.

Breakfast was a bright spot, with tasty food, plenty of choice, and good quality products. The restaurant and some rooms, though, have a serious ventilation problem. As soon as you walk into the restaurant, there's a strong, unpleasant smell of burnt oil. In some rooms it's worse, especially room 24 above the kitchen. The smell there was unbearable. It seemed as if the kitchen exhaust fan was aimed right into the room, and opening the window didn't help. Friends staying in other rooms didn't have the same issue.

The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, and the whole service felt A+ to me. We needed an earlier breakfast so we could hike Śnieżka Mountain, and they sorted it out without trouble. We also asked to check out two hours later, which was no problem. The hotel was clean and warm, there was a wide choice of meals, and hotel guests got priority for restaurant tables even when there was a queue. Thank you very much.
