Willa Tyrolczyk

The owner knows the Karkonosze Mountains inside out and is a wonderful guide, with so much knowledge about the mountains, their history, and local artists. I recommend having a coffee at Krucze Skały with a view of Śnieżka Mountain. Willa Tyrolczyk feels like a magical house with a soul, beautifully situated and decorated with care, full of atmosphere.

The owners are incredibly kind, and the house really does have a soul. Every piece of furniture and every cup in the kitchen feels carefully chosen. It’s a great base for mountain hikes, and there’s a TV, washing machine, and dishwasher for those who want modern conveniences. Be ready for steps outside and inside the house, though. Willa Tyrolczyk sits in a lovely spot right by the magical Raven Rocks, very close to a shop and just a short walk from the town center. We made lovely memories there, from breakfasts on the terrace to evenings by the fire and lazy afternoons on the balcony.

I wonder whether the owners of Villa Tyrolczyk check who they’re renting to or keep an eye on what’s happening at the property. I’m talking about guests who bring pets and let them run loose around the grounds, with no regard for other guests staying 200-300 meters away. If the checkout is correct, shouldn’t the rest be paid for too? Dogs barking at 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. wake people up. The dogs aren’t to blame for barking, but their selfish owners are. I hope the owners pay attention to what’s going on and remember that their guests aren’t alone on Skalna Street. They need to observe quiet hours. Families staying nearby have little chance to rest because of the noise from your villa. As a dog owner myself, I can’t imagine letting my four-legged family member spoil someone else’s holiday. Just like a child, a pet needs attention and care. Perhaps future guests should be reminded of that, since they may not realize it or may assume that paying means they can do whatever they want.

The little house is full of thoughtful touches, from the Christmas tree and wreath on the door to the monochrome watercolors on the walls. We felt at ease there over Christmas and New Year. It sits among huge rhododendrons, spruce and larch trees on a mountainside, with the forest all around. Though close to central Karpacz, it was peaceful and private, with no city noise reaching us. We slept well, and found it easy to cook and do laundry. The hot tub was a real treat for our water-loving kids. There are comfortable walking trails right behind the house, just right for us with two children and a dog. The hosts were lovely and kind. I’d love to come back to Willa Tyrolczyk when the rhododendrons are in bloom!
